Drift has drifted into existence – well, to the public it might seem that way – but behind the scenes there has been a lot of elbow grease and polish to bring this once glam restaurant, with what might be one of the best views in Brisbane – into 2010 – looking fresh and modern.
As promised here, lets take a look and see what’s become of the former Oxleys on the River
How's that for a view?
The city lights on the water is the real star – and the fresh and modern interior with hints of oceanic colours coming thru only compliments the cityscape.
Now this would be the perfect spot for a romantic dinner – ambience provided by the twinkling tones of the Baby Grand, the city lights sparkling on the river and reflected in your eyes – your desired one cannot help but fall for your charms and great choice of dinner venue. OR, if the hot dates not going too swimmingly, you can both gaze out to the river, and not have to have awkward conversation – it really is a perfect formula!
The venue is large. Enough to split off into five spaces – which can be hired seperately for functions or even combined to cater for 400 people cocktail, or 300 people sit down. They even have boats available if you would prefer to split your function between land and sea – with catering available on board a choice of two boats.
Starting in mid June – there will be caberet shows on the last Thursday of each month and from July the Moët & chandon musical series begins – a live concert series over dinner. Both events are part of a 3 course dinner package priced at a $75
Now its probably obvious by now that I have a crush on Drift - one of the biggest reasons being the Friday and Saturday night supper club which STARTS at 10.00pm – you can come in and grab dessert after your show, or just a cocktail – enjoy some music, and not feel like you have to gulp it down and rush out the door – nice.
Head Chef is Benny Loh and the cuisine is Modern Australian with Singaporean flavours.

Great post, thank you. I look forward to a night out at Drift.
How is the acoustic factor there now? Oxleys was always too loud with reverberating noise. And, NO. It’s not just me getting old! :-0
Hi Sandy,
It sounds good to me and they’ve had quite a few shows in there now, so I’m guessing that was addressed? But my ear may not be as tuned as yours!
