Brisbane restaurants and cafes are scrambling to get back on their feet to keep providing you with delicious food and sustainance.
Please show them your support – and bear with them, some are on reduced supplies and menus may be slightly varied. As you may be aware, many businesses are uninsured due to no fault of their own, but as a result of the ‘74 floods, or other insurance restrictions. No doubt you already know where to go to donate, but just in case, here it is Queensland flood relief

La Ninas will dominate summer weather patterns on the east of Australian for many years. La Nina occurs when colder than average sea temperatures in the Pacific combine with stronger winds and increased cloud density to alter weather patterns in Australia. La Nina and El Nino events are clustered every 10-40 years (not random) and the previous run of La Ninas hapened between the 40s – 70s (and ended with the floods of 74). They were followed by around 30 years of dry El Nino patterns. We will see much wetter summers and greater flood risks from Rockhampton to the NSW central coast for the next 30 years. Even though La Ninas usually dissipate by April-May, intervening months can still bring monsoonal rain to soaked catchment areas. This return to La Nino cycle will have a devastating impact on Australia, worse than last time due to increased population density in the affected areas. It’s likely we face 30 years of extreme La Nina weather events.

Aussie House Prices and the Credit Crunch – My Blog
I am devastated for my favorite restaurant Moo Moo. I understand they have already started the clean up but it is a big job. I wish them well and hope they are open sooner rather than later. I will support them by visiting the Broadbeach Moo Moo.
Stones Corner Hotel is open for business. Was there on Wednesday.
Here hoping that Moo Moo is up and running again soon. I believe they are saying they will be shut for at least one month. Surprised they are not listed above as they appear to be one of the worst hit.
Great list. You have been busy.
We’ve just opened up this Monday … still sorting out some of our suppliers, etc… but we should be alright … we’ve got some resources about the floods if anyone is interested and is after any information and news sites (http://goa-doodle-do.com/points-note-brisbane-floods-2010)
Thanks Ronsley, have added to the list!
Thanks Nicole, have updated details on Moo Moo now
