Hey Claire
I wanted to drop a note about a wonderful restaurant we visited on the 14 October 2010. I needed to find somewhere special as I had a dear friend who was in need of cheering up so I headed to your site to find somewhere to revive her. I came across a restaurant called Drift not being from here I had unfortunatly driven pass this wonderful source of delight everyday for the past two weeks but now armed with your info I made a booking for lunch that day.
It was just what we all needed from the ease of parking with a short walk across to our table looking out over Brisbane river. Everything was perfect from the attentive wait staff to the amazing food we ate.
We ordered the the set menu with my friend having the Tart and myself having the squid to start. Both prepared to perfection as a side note I usually find some chefs are quiet liberal with the spices on the salt and pepper squid but at Drift it just complemented the squid not overpowered it. We both had the lamb as our main that melted in our mouth with every bite. Unfortunately we were both too full to have a dessert but I could see they looked mouthwatering. Due to driving I was only able to have a glass of a wonderful Pinot gris from the Adelaide Hills it was hard not to ask for a second.
Please pass on our complements to Chef the food was good and honest with beautiful clean flavours that was food for your soul. We felt very comfortable at this restaurant having come from Sydney and enjoyed fine dining there I preferred what Drift offered everything that fine dining gives you without the snobbery.
As to my friend it was an exprience she really enjoyed and all of this brought a smile to her face again much thanks Drift restaurant for making her day and mine.
Regards Kim
